For the first time this year, the Carmel Mission Classic included a Mercedes Corral.   Seven members participated in this gem of a car show, held on the Wednesday of Car Week in Monterey.   This is a gem of a car show, held the Wednesday of Car Week in Monterey.   The smaller size of the show does not detract from the interest or importance of the cars, but rather makes it much more digestible.  A handmade multimillion dollar Pagani Huayra hypercar sits casually next to the heirloom Rolls Royce of a local family.   The full arc of automotive technology is on display, from a 1919 Franklin, with its overhead valves exposed, to the stunning computer controlled, turbo boosted, 550hp 2018 Mercedes GT C.   Background music was provided by a jazz combo, playing nostalgic standards from the 30’s and 40’s, and a very cool Argentine Harp player.

The show is elegant and friendly, the mid-week traffic is manageable, the parking is close and easy, the surroundings couldn’t be more attractive, and the proceeds go 100% to support charities of the Knights of Columbus.
