Fun & Merriment Is Had by All, When Two Clubs Meet

by Marcus Dodson, SNMBCA Newsletter Editor

In late March, the San Francisco Bay Area and Sierra Nevada Sections of the Mercedes®-Benz Club of America gathered together at Napa-Sonoma Plumgate in Reno for an energetic and fun East Meets West Dinner Event.  Between the two clubs, 32 people joined in, making it a great way to meet with like-minded car enthusiasts.  Prior to dinner, mingling guests enjoyed martinis, Manhattans, whiskeys, and wine while socializing.

“This is the best event we’ve gone to in the Sierra Nevadas all year,” expressed John Goode, president of the San Francisco Bay Area Section.  “Every year, our club looks forward to driving over the hill to experience all that Reno has to offer.  This dinner tonight was the perfect ending to a great weekend.”
Napa-Sonoma gave the Mercedes Club its own dedicated waitress and bartender, and the large group was situated in a private dining room.  Napa-Sonoma’s menu is always fresh and dynamic, and on this particular evening, club members feasted on salmon, chicken piccata, prime rib, and more.  After the main dishes were served, guests were able to choose between carrot cake, vanilla ice cream, or chocolate molten lava cake.
After dessert, John Goode had the group participate in a fun game.  Four teams were challenged in a pass-the-olive game in which one person had to pass a martini olive from fork to fork between seven members of the team.  Team Two was the lucky winner, receiving much praise and honor.
“Thank you to the San Francisco Club,” said Sierra Nevada Section President, Gail Wells.  “We enjoy hosting all of you every year for the East Meets West Dinner Event.  We love seeing all of you every year to discuss events and revel in our mutual fondness for Mercedes vehicles.”
This was another great meet-up between the neighboring clubs, and we look forward to seeing the members of the San Francisco Bay Area Section again next year.
